Joseph J. Voccola, Esquire
Joseph graduated from Boston University in 1986 with his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He then went to New England School of Law earning his Juris Doctor degree in 1989. His concentration practice area is Criminal Law. Mr. Voccola has been selected by the National Trial Lawyers as one of their top 100. The National Academy of Criminal Defense Attorneys has presented Mr. Voccola with its nationally-ranked Top Ten Attorney Awards. Thomas F. Connors, Esquire 1948-2016
Thomas served in the United States Army from 1966-1969 in the 82nd Airborne Division and the U.S. 173rd Airborne Brigade, serving in Vietnam 1967-1968. Thomas then went on to attend the University of Rhode Island earning his Bachelor’s degree in 1974. While attending URI he was active on campus and received many awards including Kappa PHI, Honorary Biological Sciences Society Phi Sigma, Outstanding senior student, Northeast Branch American Society Agronomy Plant & Soil Science, Graduate fellowship, Alpha Zeta National Honorary fraternity Washington D.C. He then attended Suffolk Law School earning his J.D. in 1978. Thomas’s areas of practice include Criminal Law, State and Federal along with Extensive Trial practice. He is currently a member of the R.I. Bar, Federal Bar, 1st Circuit Court of Appeals, National Rifle Association, and the Rhode Island Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. In 1991 Thomas was the Citizen of the Year Recipient Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms. Tom passed away on Tuesday April 12th, 2016. Michele Prinscott, Esquire
Born and raised in New York City, Michele graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She later went on to St. John’s University School of Law earning her Juris Doctor degree. Now an associate attorney at Joseph. J. Voccola, Esq. & Associates, Michele’s concentration areas of practice are Personal Injury/ Civil Litigation and Traffic law. Prior to that, her experience includes working as a litigation associate, concentrating in the area of Criminal law. Michele also served as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens, New York in the felony trial bureau. She was appointed as an Administrative Hearing Officer for the New York City Police Department at their headquarters in Manhattan. Michele has also worked as a U.S. Department of Labor attorney in their Wage and Hour division. Michele’ activities include membership in the R.I. Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and membership in the Rhode Island Association for Justice. Robert attended the University of Pennsylvania from 1965-1966 and the University of Massachusetts 1972-1975. He served in the United States Navy from 1968-1972, then went on to Law School at George Washington University graduating in 1978. David P. Morra, Jr., Esquire
David attended the University of Rhode Island, graduating in 2010 earning his bachelor’s degree. He then went to attend the University of Massachusetts School of Law- Dartmouth, earning his Juris Doctorate in 2013. While attending law school, David was a member of the Criminal Law Society, as well as the Student Veteran’s Association. After graduating from law school, David focused on Property Law, specializing in successfully obtaining mortgage loan modifications for Rhode Island and Massachusetts homeowners who were in danger of losing their homes to foreclosure. David also focused on defending Rhode Island and Massachusetts homeowners against foreclosure proceedings initiated by big banks and lending institutions. Now an Associate at Joseph J. Tom Romano, Esquire
Thomas graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1992 with a Bachelor of Science. His Juris Doctorate was earned from Seton Hall University School of Law in 1995. Thomas was admitted to the Rhode Island bar in 1995; the Massachusetts Bar in 1996. He is admitted in the U.S. District Court, District of Rhode Island, the U.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts, and the First Circuit Court of Appeals. In Law School, Thomas was a member of the Legislative Journal, and a published author of “Firing Back: Legislative Attempts to Combat Assault Weapons,” 19 Seton Hall Legis J. 3, 1995. He was also a member and director of the Seton Hall Law School Mentor Program. He is a member of Rhode Island and American Bar Associations;. Mark Laroche
Attorney Laroche grew up in Bristol, Rhode Island and after receiving an Agriculture Degree from the University of Rhode Island in 1984 he served in the U.S. Peace Corps/Ecuador from 1986 – 1988 where he became fluent in Spanish. He obtained his Law Degree from Washburn Law School – Topeka, Kansas in 1991, and his Environmental Law Master’s Degree from the Vermont Law School in 1992. Since then he has represented Rhode Island’s Latino community in the areas of immigration, bankruptcy, family, civil and criminal law. He represents immigrant’s and their stories, families, and work contributions before Immigration Judges in Arizona, Texas, Georgia, Louisiana, Chicago, Connecticut, New York and Boston to defend them from being deported; and also before U.S. consular officers in Nigeria, Ecuador, Liberia, Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, El Salvador, Cape Verde, Haiti, and other countries. He has been recognized for providing free legal services to the poor, and he is immediately available by cell or text to answer client’s questions. He is licensed to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals – First Circuit; U.S. District Court for the District of Rhode Island; and the Rhode Island Supreme Court. He is a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association. He is an avid dancer, and his three teenagers are involved in soccer, robots, swim, percussion and chorus.
Lisette Gomez, Esquire
Ms. Gomes is a first generation Cabo Verdean with close ties to the Latin community by way of Central Falls, where she grew up and graduated from high school in 2004. Lisette attended Salve Regina University, graduating in 2008 and earning her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration. She then went to attend the University of Toledo College of Law located in Toledo, Ohio. She graduated with her Juris Doctorate in 2011. Lisette made a conscious decision not to abandon her roots and returned to Rhode Island after graduation. In 2013 Ms. Gomes became the Housing Prosecutor for the City of Central Falls. As the prosecutor she oversees housing code violations for the City. Lisette also serves as the Assistant City Solicitor for the City of Pawtucket. As the Assistant City Solicitor she assists in the prosecution of misdemeanor criminal violations, defends the City against civil claims and handles labor arbitration. Lastly, Ms. Gomes serves as the Municipal Court Judge for the City of East Providence. Now an Associate at Joseph J. Voccola and Associates, Lisette’s concentration area of practice is Family Law. Her bar admissions include the State of Rhode Island and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
